UKRI
Located south of Didcot, the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory(RAL) underwent a major redevelopment, funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
The vision for the project was to create a ‘World Class Place’ that helps to establish the UK as a “global leader in research and innovation.”
Working alongside Overbury and Squaredot, we designed, manufactured and installed a four of our glazed systems for the project, to accommodate for the varying designs:
· Silence 59 Single Glazed partitions and Syncra® Single Glazed sliding doors with 25mm abutments and a reeded finish for privacy. Our Silence 59 system provides a dB rating of up to 41.
· Silence 50D Double Glazed partitions and Fulcra® Double Glazed pivoting doors, again with 25mm abutments and a reeded finish for privacy. Our Silence50D system provides a dB rating of up to 47.
The project emphasised the importance of working with the architect and contractor from the design stage, to ensure the smooth delivery of the multiple systems.
Following the project, we also supported Overbury’s community project at the Bright Horizons Nursery, clearing overgrown foliage and building fences to improve the campus’ forest school.
